About Vibe Bio
Vibe Bio is an AI-powered pharmaceutical intelligence company. We help investors, biotech firms, and pharmaceutical companies evaluate therapeutic assets—assessing biological rationale, clinical feasibility, competitive positioning, and commercial potential. Our platform combines large language models with expert-built assessment frameworks to deliver due diligence that’s faster, more systematic, and more defensible than traditional approaches.
We’re a team of scientists, engineers, and industry experts building tools that bring rigor to pharmaceutical decision-making. Our clients use our platform to make higher-confidence decisions about where to invest, what to partner on, and which programs to advance.
Description
We’re looking for an engineering lead to join our Product & Engineering team. You’ll help build and scale VibeOne, our client-facing platform.
This is a core engineering role-not a machine learning or data science position-though you’ll work closely with LLMs and their APIs as part of the product.
As an early team member, you’ll have significant influence over technical direction, architecture decisions, and engineering culture. Ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving startup environment and wants to shape something from the ground up. You will manage and help grow a small team of engineers building our core application.
What you’ll do (but is not limited to)
- Work closely with our Director of Product and Head of AI to develop and expand VibeOne.
- Own the architecture and reliability of our client-facing platform.
- Collaborate with domain experts in drug development and gain exposure to biotech and pharma R&D.
- Architect scalable systems, implementation processes, and deployment pipelines.
- Manage and extend our tech stack with an eye toward best practices and long-term maintainability.
- Integrate and orchestrate large language models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) via their APIs.
- Build an engineering culture that minimizes friction—investing in tooling, testing, and peer support.
Your Qualifications
- 5-8 years of full-stack software engineering experience
- Proficiency with modern front-end frameworks (React preferred) and backend/database tools (PostgreSQL, AWS)
- Experience designing data-intensive B2B applications
- Experience building applications from scratch, including front-end and backend architecture decisions
- Working knowledge of LLMs and core concepts (tokenization, RAG, context windows)
- Familiarity with Python and JavaScript
- Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines
- Opinions and instinct for what works and doesn’t work in an early stage startup setting
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, remote startup environment with ambiguity and rapid iteration
Nice to have:
- Experience building agentic LLM workflows
- Familiarity with LLMOps tooling (vLLM, SGLang)
- Experience with LLM evaluation frameworks
- Web scraping experience
- Visual design sensibility for information-dense interfaces
- Experience with vector databases
- Experience with SOC2 compliance
- Background or interest in biotech/pharma (not required)
